Philadelphia Floral Guild

How PFG Came to Be

Philadelphia Floral Guild was founded in 2022 after a brainstorming session between Love ‘n Fresh Flowers, Hickory Grove Gardens, and Flores Temporis.  There had been a growing demand for locally grown flowers, but no centralized hub was currently available to designers in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area. It was important to these women to not only create a business model that made locally grown stems accessible to floral designers but to also foster a community where designers and growers could come together to solve “big picture” sustainability challenges and lead by example. Since the launch of PFG in August 2022, we have expanded the collective to 5 growers and have sold a whopping 37,000+ stems to 47 designers.

Flower farmers of the Philadelphia Floral Guild

All of PFG’s growers are personally and passionately committed to organic and sustainable farming practices and take great pride in every stem they harvest. They work together to bring you not only stems of extreme quality but also ones that are unique! You can find stems in PFG’s shop you won’t find at your typical wholesaler including agrostemma, didiscus, icelandic poppies by color, specialty tulips, garden roses, caryopteris, specialty foliage, and so much more! All of our growers collect and treat all these varieties like treasures. Every stem that leaves the hub has our personal guarantee of quality and longevity.

Philadelphia Floral Guild’s mission is to supply the largest volume and highest quality of locally grown stems in our region, week in and week out, to remove all single use plastics from our distribution system and to offer deeply sustainable alternatives to the traditional wholesale supply chain. PFG is a woman-owned, grower-owned hub. We choose to be steadfast in the idea of a local flower collective being bigger than all of us: we are here to create change in our industry that has historically consumed more than it has given back to those working in it and to our earth.
