Meet Our Growers

PFG works with small independent flower farms within a 50 mile radius of our hub in Philadelphia. You’ll never meet a more passionate, dedicated, thoughtful, and sometimes zany
group as these spirited growers. Every flower grower that sells through PFG has at least 3 years of professional flower farming experience and most are floral designers themselves. This means they know how to grow the good stuff, and they know exactly what you need.

The Impact of Local Flowers

What can locally grown stems do for your floral business?

Less Shrink: Without the stress of a long ride in the global supply chain, our stems are superior in quality with much less breakage and far better hydration.

Less Labor: Our growers do all the work of a studio assistant, stripping stems and making fresh cuts on stems that go directly into water and never leave a water source. This means you do not have to process anything!

Less Trash: There are no boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, box straps, plastic sleeves, and all the other usual trash that comes with a flower delivery from the traditional wholesaler.

What can locally grown stems do for our earth?

Less Carbon Burned: Imported flowers in the US typically travel 2,500 or more miles in refrigerated planes, trucks and boats to reach you.

Less Chemicals: During the growing process, imported flowers are exposed to 100+ chemicals that are banned in the U.S. These are chemicals that end up in our water and make it very hard to compost them in an ethical way when we’re done.

More Healthy Habitat: Our local farms intentionally create critically needed habitat and support healthy soil stewardship to ensure our region’s ecosystem can better weather the storms ahead.
