We’re excited to welcome Bee Well Blooms as the newest farm to join the Philadelphia Floral Guild this season.
Bee Well Blooms is the result of a big dream and a lot of hard work. Owners Sarah and Kevin Smeltz, both originally from Lancaster County and graduates of Penn State’s agriculture program, moved to the Lehigh Valley in 2018 to launch their flower farming journey on rented ground at The Seed Farm in Emmaus. What began as a humble half-acre patch of cut flowers quickly grew into something much bigger.

In 2023, Sarah and Kevin purchased their dream 40-acre farm in beautiful Germansville, Pennsylvania. Since then, they’ve been transforming what was once conventionally farmed row-crop land into a biologically rich and diversified flower farm. Today, Bee Well Blooms grows approximately five acres of flowers, led by Sarah and a small crew of talented women, while Kevin manages row crops on the rest of the farm. Their commitment to stewardship, biodiversity, and soil health aligns beautifully with the values we share at PFG, and we’re thrilled to have their flowers available to our customers starting in June.
One of the things we’re especially excited about is Bee Well’s location. Nestled in the hills of northwestern Lehigh County, the farm enjoys a cooler climate than many of our other farms. Those cooler temperatures mean certain spring favorites, including tulips, ranunculus, anemones, snapdragons, asters, and peonies, often bloom a bit later. For PFG customers, that’s great news because it helps us extend the seasonal window for some of your most beloved blooms!

Life at Bee Well extends beyond the flower fields. If you visit the farm, you’ll likely be greeted by Sasha and Rudy, the farm dogs, along with Bart, the resident turkey and unofficial farm mascot who takes his supervisory duties very seriously. When she’s not farming, Sarah enjoys crocheting, caring for her flocks, and hunting for treasures on Facebook Marketplace. Kevin can usually be found tinkering with equipment, working on landscaping projects, or enjoying a good book.
Please join us in welcoming Bee Well Blooms to the Guild. We know you’ll love getting to know Sarah and Kevin through the beautiful flowers they grow!
